We would like to introduce our company to you. Kimberley Express was established in 1994 with a goal of providing reliable and efficient solutions to the transport and freight industry.

Kimberley Express was established by Amanda Knepscheld in 1992 when she saw the need in the market for an express service between Bloemfontein and Kimberley, with its Head Office in Bloemfontein, Free State. Van Dyck Carpets became a client in 1993 and we are proud to say that after 25 years they are still one of our valued customers. With Van Dyck coming on board in 1993 the Kimberley Express network was expanded. In 2004 we started with a daily route to Lesotho and proud to say that today we are one of the preferred suppliers to deliver into Lesotho.
As the Company progressed, branches were opened in Kimberley (November 2014, with its sole purpose to deliver Avon to the Northern Cape on behalf of Fast n Furious) and Upington (May 2017), Northern Cape as well as a branch in Johannesburg (July 2020), Gauteng. These branches serve as distribution hubs for the surrounding areas, enabling deliveries and collections to and from all regions.
In 2012 Amanda registered the business as a PTY (LTD). In 2012 her son Adriaan Theisinger partnered up with the Kimberley Express team. Adriaan has been valuable in gaining new clients and running the operations in Bloemfontein. During 2017, SJ Jansen van Rensburg become part of the team, as Kimberley Hub Manager and then promoted to General Manager in 2019, making a big difference in various departments, growing Kimberley Express, and ensuring that all statutory laws are adhered to.
Kimberley Express provides focused distribution services to the Freestate, Northern Cape, some towns in the Eastern Cape, Northwest Province, and Lesotho. These focussed services include primarily a break-bulk or less than truck load (LTL) service into the areas named above. This service is enabled via our long-distance trucking service from Johannesburg into our regional footprint of 3 cross dock hubs. The cross-dock hubs infrastructure includes the staff, floor space, transport, and information technology assets to ensure perfect order fulfilment. The Kimberley Express IT capabilities include a freight management system (Winfreight) that can be based on client’s premises as an in-house for capturing and printing waybills and labels onsite as well as live replication of tracking, PODs, and images back into the in-house for real time management of consignments sent on any day. The benefits of a freight management system include real time parcel tracking, online PODs with the ability to request hardcopies, document imaging system for all supporting documents, consignment tracking via reference number/tracking number and daily, weekly, or monthly POD reports.
